Male 41 years had blood clots or thrombosis since the end of November and has been undergoing intensive treatment in a hospital in Mexico.
Calero, who had become a goalkeeping coach at Mexican club Pachuca, survived thanks to life support equipment. However, the doctors finally declared brain dead Calero.
"After a number of inspections and tests some time ago, we reported that the technical director Archer, Group Pachuca, Miguel Angel Rodriguez Calero, brain dead. Currently Miguel Calero was treated in intensive care with life-support equipment," the official statement management Pachucha club.
Meanwhile, GOAL.com Mexico had received a statement from representatives of the hospital Dr. Edgar Natal and Dr. Jose Antonio Torres that Calero's death is now only a matter of time.
"We are informed that Mr. Calero suffered brain death. Unfortunately, now the death of Miguel Calero is only a matter of time."
